Who is responsible

World Studio is managed by Yorick. For questions about privacy or the use of your data, email contact@world-studio.nl.

Information we process

• your email address, account identifier and active sign-in sessions;
• your language choice, book access and reading progress;
• Gumroad sale information needed to recognise a purchase, refund or reversed payment;
• messages and requests you send to World Studio;
• limited technical information required for security and abuse prevention.

World Studio does not receive your full payment-card details. Gumroad handles payment and receipts.

Why we use this information

We use account, purchase and progress information to perform our agreement with you: providing access to purchased books, showing your library and saving your reading position. We process security information because World Studio has a legitimate interest in protecting accounts and paid content. Some information may also be retained when needed to handle a refund, dispute or legal obligation.

Services that help us

World Studio uses infrastructure from OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare, Resend for sign-in emails and Gumroad for sales, payments and delivery of the EPUB files. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements. Where information is processed outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards offered by the relevant provider.

How long we keep information

A sign-in link expires after fifteen minutes and a sign-in session after no more than thirty days. Account information and reading progress remain until the account is deleted. Purchase and refund records may be kept longer when needed to restore access, handle a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Information that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised.

Cookies and local storage

World Studio uses a necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Your device stores your language, reading preferences, local reading position and, temporarily, the status of a Gumroad purchase. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate visits and page performance without cookies or individual visitor profiles. World Studio also counts only how often book access and the Gumroad purchase button are opened; no IP address, account identity or advertising profile is stored for these events. We use no advertising cookies or marketing trackers.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold, correct errors and request deletion, restriction or transfer. You may also object to processing. In My library you can submit an access or deletion request. We will respond within one month. Information held directly by Gumroad requires a separate request to Gumroad.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.

No automated decision-making

World Studio does not use your reading behaviour to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Your progress only determines which spoiler-safe entries become visible in the world library.
